Japan Driving License Practice

Free Japan Driving Test Practice

Choose Karimen or Honmen, then study every question or take a timed mock test. Available in five languages on phones, tablets and desktop browsers.

Your selected language is stored locally in this browser. Use the navigation above or the guide links below to continue with licence conversion, renewal, driving-school and application information.

Study Questions and Mock Test

Study Questions shows every answer and explanation while you learn. Mock Test keeps feedback hidden until the end and includes an exam countdown timer.

Every mock test is freshly shuffled so you can practise without repeating the same sequence.

About the practice tests and how to study effectively

What the practice app contains

Karimen combines five sets into 250 study questions and uses a fresh 50-question, 30-minute mock test. Honmen combines four sets into 360 study questions and uses a fresh 90-question, 50-minute mock test. The question banks are merged into one Karimen pool and one Honmen pool. Explanations help you understand why a statement is true or false instead of memorising only an answer.

How to use the question sets

Begin with one complete set in your strongest language. Review every explanation, including answers that were correct by guesswork. Use Study Questions to review the complete pool, then choose Mock Test when you are ready. After studying, take a fresh timed set without hints. Consistent scores above the official threshold provide a better safety margin than passing a single familiar set.

Karimen and Honmen preparation

The browser app focuses on written True/False rule practice. Official examinations can use different wording and may include illustration-based hazard-prediction items, administrative conditions or local language arrangements. Combine this question bank with current official material, road-sign study and practical instruction. Confirm the examination format and supported languages with the prefectural police authority responsible for your address.

Figures, translations and accessibility

Road figures are loaded only when needed, which makes the initial page lighter on mobile connections. Alternative text identifies the type of road sign or traffic diagram. Multilingual translations are provided for study support, but difficult legal wording may still require comparison with Japanese source material or help from a qualified instructor or interpreter.

Progress and privacy

No account is required. Your selected language is stored locally on this device. Clearing browser data, using private mode or changing devices can reset it. The practice interface contains no embedded advertisement area. Read the privacy policy for more information.

Related licence information

Written-test study is only one part of getting or keeping a licence. Use the related guides to check foreign licence conversion documents, driving-school routes, renewal periods, replacement procedures and temporary driving rules. Use the clearly labelled page navigation above the practice app to return to the main licence-information website or browse the complete guide library.

Safe, realistic preparation

Use the tests as structured revision rather than as a promise that the official examination will repeat the same wording. Read every explanation, compare difficult rules with current official material and practise until you can explain why an answer is correct. The website is designed for independent study, but professional instruction remains valuable for practical driving skills and local procedures.
